URGENT / IED leaves 48 casualties in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: At least seven students were killed and 41 others were wounded in an improvised explosive device explosion in eastern Baghdad on Monday, a security source said.
“The bomb went off near Al-Shahid Ali Yasser school in Sadr City in eastern Baghdad, killing seven students and injuring 41, all students,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Their ages range between 13 and 16 years,” he added.
“Security forces cordoned off the whole region and rushed the wounded to nearby hospitals for treatment,” he noted.
