Turkmen politician assassinated in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: Unidentified gunmen assassinated the official of the Turkmen Front Party, in front of his house in eastern Mosul city on Sunday, a police source in Ninewa said.

“Gunmen opened fire at Yawiz Ahmed Hussein in front of his house today (Nov. 22), killing him instantly,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He did not give further details.

Mosul, the capital city of the violence-marred province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
