Gunmen wounded while planting bomb in Diala

DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: Two gunmen on Saturday were injured while they were trying to plant an improvised explosive device (IED) on the road between al-Saadiya and Mandali, according to a local police source.
“The device detonated on the main road linking al-Saadiya and Mandali districts,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Police forces arrived at the scene of the blast and seized two weapons in their possession,” the source pointed out.
Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
