2 civilians killed, injured in Jalawlaa

DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: One civilian was killed and another one was injured Wednesday by a roadside bomb blast in Jalawlaa, according to a security source.

“An improvised explosive device went off Wednesday (Nov. 18) targeting a civilian vehicle in Bunayra village in Jalawlaa, southwest of Khanaqin, killing a civilian and injuring another one, who was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“Security forces arrested three suspects near Murjana village between al-Saadiya and Jalawlaa district,” another security source said.

Khanaqin, one of the disputed areas between the central government in Baghdad and the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), is 155 km northeast of Baaquba, which lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
