2 gunmen killed in IED blast they planted

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: Two gunmen were killed while attempting to emplace and improvised an explosive device in eastern Mosul city on Sunday, a local police source in Ninewa informed.

“The gunmen were killed when the IED they were about to plant went off near them on the main street in al-Zahraa neighborhood, eastern Mosul,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He did not give further details about the incident.

Mosul, the capital city of volatile province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
