Lawmakers reach agreement on election law, vote on Saturday – MP

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Head of the legal committee, Bahaa al-Aaraji, unveiled on Thursday that lawmakers reached an agreement on the election law, noting that the law will be voted on next Saturday for lack of quorum today.

“The lawmakers agreed to hold election in Kirkuk according to the voter register of 2009 and to give a seat for Arabs and Turkmen from the national seats,” al-Aaraji told reporters.

“The vote on the law will take place next Saturday (Nov. 7) for lack of quorum during today’s session,” he explained.
