11 soldiers killed, wounded in Falluja blast

ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Eleven Iraqi servicemen on Saturday were killed or injured in an explosive charge blast that ripped through Falluja, according to a security source.

“Today, an improvised explosive device (IED) hit an Iraqi army vehicle in al-Nainiya area, southeastern Falluja, killing three patrolmen and wounding eight others,” a police source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
Earlier today, an explosive charge went off in al-Ameriya district, southern Falluja, killing one patrolman and wounding two others
The explosion comes following a series of car bomb and explosive device blasts that left dozens of persons killed or wounded.

Falluja, the largest city in Anbar, lies 45 km west of Baghdad; while Ramadi, the capital of the province, lies 110 km west of Baghdad.
