Iraq signs comprehensive agreement with Turkey – Minister

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq’s Interior Minister Jawad al-Boulani said on Thursday that his ministry signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Turkey.

“The agreement includes controlling borders, fighting PKK elements and training Iraqi forces,” al-Boulani informed Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

For his part, Head of the Investment Commission, Sami al-Aaraji, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency that “a total of 40 memorandums of understanding were signed between Iraqi and Turkey in Baghdad today (Oct. 15) in health, interior, communication, transport, oil and housing fields.”

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had arrived earlier in Baghdad to sign a number of agreements with the Iraqi government.
