BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Sadrist bloc demanded on Thursday not to implement the security agreement signed with Britain.

“The Sadrist bloc submitted an official opposition to the parliament’s chairmanship regarding the approval of the agreement with Britain despite the lack of quorum, as well as a complaint to the federal court regarding passing the agreement without a law authorizing the government to hold such agreements,” Sadrist MP Hassan Hashem said at a press conference in Baghdad.

He considered the approval of the agreement as false as the session lacked the quorum.

On Wednesday (Oct.. 14) Parliament approved the security agreement between Iraq and Britain.
