CBI dollar sales down to $662m this week

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) dollar sales slightly decreased during this week’s auctions to reach $662.505 million compared to last week’s $674.805 million.

“The demand hit $17.500 million in cash versus $18.410 million last week, covered by the bank at an exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars, and $645.005 million in foreign transfers outside the country versus last week’s $629.395 million, covered at an exchange rate of 1,173 Iraqi dinars per dollar,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

No banks that participated in this week’s sessions offered to sell dollars.

The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday.
