Information on possible truck bomb attack in Diala

DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: Intelligence information assert armed groups are planning to bring a truck bomb into the northern regions of Diala, according to a security source.

“Intelligence information received by security leaders on Monday (Aug. 24) assert that al-Qaeda is planning to bring a truck bomb into Diala through al-Azeem region in Khales, north of Baaquba,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“Police have intensified security efforts at the inlets and outlets of the cities, mainly the main road to al-Azeem region which lead to Kirkuk,” he added.

Baaquba, the capital of Diala, is 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
