11 officers arrested after Baghdad bombings - Qassem Atta

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Baghdad Operations Command arrested 11 police and army officers after the Baghdad bombings that occurred on Wednesday, a spokesman for the BOC said.
“The BOC arrested 11 police and army officers who were on duty in Bab al-Muaatham and al-Salihiya regions in central Baghdad and they are under investigation now on how the car bombs entered the regions under their protection,” General Qassem Atta told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
He gave no further details.
Eighty-two persons were killed and 1,203 were wounded in six explosions that ripped through Baghdad on Wednesday (Aug. 19).
