BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: An official spokesperson for the Law-imposing Plan in Baghdad on Wednesday said that only two explosions had hit the Iraqi capital today.
“A truck loaded with explosives detonated at a Foreign Ministry parking lot at al-Salhiya intersection, killing and wounding a number of civilians,” Staff Maj. Gen Qassem Ata said.
“The blast caused significant damage to the ministry’s compound, and nearby vehicles and houses,” Ata noted.
“The second blast, which occurred near the Finance Ministry headquarters, was caused by a car bomb,” the official noted, adding that it left several casualties and caused considerable damage to the building and a nearby bridge.
“Most of the wounded were hit by flying glass,” Ata indicated.
“The evacuation of the wounded is proceeding,” he added.
