Car bomb explodes in front of foreign ministry in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: A car rigged with explosives exploded Wednesday morning in front of the foreign ministry near the Green Zone in central Baghdad, a police source said.
“A car loaded with explosives went off Wednesday (Aug. 19) in front of the foreign ministry’s building near the Green Zone, damaging nearby buildings,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
He gave no further details.
No word was immediately available on casualties.
A series of explosions rattled the Iraqi capital today.
