Policeman shot down by gunmen in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: A policeman was killed by gunmen fire in a crowded marketplace in central Mosul city on Friday, a security source in Ninewa said.
“Gunmen opened fire at a policeman on a leave in the pedestrian-crammed area of Bab el-Toub, central Mosul, killing him instantly,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The gunmen escaped to an unknown place,” the source added.
Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
