Soon: Ministry to open Amara refinery

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Iraqi Ministry of Oil next week will open Amara’s refinery, which operates at a capacity of 30,000 barrels per day (bpd), as well as a third unit in Najaf’s refinery with a capacity of 10,000 bpd, according to an official statement.
“A third unit will be added to Najaf’s refinery to increase its total productivity to 30,000 bpd,” a statement released by the National Media Center and received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency quoted a media spokesperson for the ministry, Aasem Jihad, as saying.
“The Amara refinery will help meet the needs of the province as well as neighboring areas,” Jihad indicated.
