IED goes off near liquor store in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: An improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated by unidentified persons near a store selling liquor in southern Baghdad on Sunday, an Iraqi police source said.
“An IED planted by unidentified persons near a liquor store in al-Dora neighborhood, southern Baghdad, went off on Sunday (Aug. 2), leaving no casualties,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“In central Baghdad, anti-bomb squad personnel dismantled an IED planted on the main road in Sheikh Omar area without incident,” the source added.
Baghdad witnessed bombing attacks that targeted Shiite mosques during the past two days, leaving dozens killed or wounded.
