2 soldiers killed in attack in eastern Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: Two Iraqi soldiers were killed Monday in an attack on an Iraqi army checkpoint in eastern Mosul, according to a security source.
“Unknown gunmen opened fire on an army checkpoint in al-Jazaer neighborhood in eastern Mosul, killing two soldiers,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“They fled to an unknown place,” he added.
He did not give more details.
This is the third attack of its kind in Ninewa.
Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
