9 wanted men arrested in Basra

BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces on Monday arrested nine wanted men in a wide-scale security operation throughout Basra, said a source from the province’s police.

“Police forces conducted raid operations throughout Basra,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Nine persons wanted for criminal cases were arrested during the campaign,” he said.
“One pistol, 45 illegal cars, and 16 motorcycles with no registration documents were seized in the operations,” he added.
The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad.
