IED kills, wounds 4 in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: One person on Sunday was killed and three others, including a cop, were wounded in an explosive charge blast that occurred near the provincial building in Mosul city, according to a local security source.

“Today, an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted an Iraqi army patrol vehicle in al-Jumhouriya St., 50 meters away from Ninewa’s provincial building in downtown Mosul city, killing one person and injuring three others, including a policeman,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The device was detonated by a mobile phone,” the source pointed out.

Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
