Gunman killed in attack on police in Falluja

ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: One gunman was killed in an attack on a police checkpoint in eastern Falluja suburb, a source from the police said on Monday.

“The incident took place in Garmatal-Falluja district, east of Falluja city,” Colonel Saad Abbass told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The attack caused no casualties among the police,” he said.
“The attacker was identified,” he added.
Colonel Abbass did not mention further details, but noted that investigations are still underway in this regard.
Falluja city lies 45 km west of Baghdad.
