22 killed, 30 wounded in central Baghdad bombing - spokesman

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The preliminary toll of the suicide bombing attack that took place on Thursday afternoon in central Baghdad is 22 deaths and more than 30 wounded, the official spokesman for the Baghdad Operation’s Command (BOC) said.
“The bomber blew up an explosive belt strapped to his body targeting civilians who were receiving food materials in al-Karada region in central Baghdad, killing 22, including 8 security forces and injuring more than 30,” General Qassem Atta told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
A police source had said earlier the casualties from the explosion that ripped through central Baghdad on Thursday rose to 28 deaths and 50 wounded.
