Denmark to open consulate in Kurdistan

ARBIL / Aswat al-Iraq: The Danish government has decided to open a consulate in Arbil, the capital city of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, according to a senior official in the regional government.
“In the context of furthering international relations between the Kurdistan region and the world, Denmark has decided to open a consulate in the region,” a foreign relations department official in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Falah Mostafa, said in a statement that was received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
Fifteen countries have representative offices and consulates in the northern region, Mostafa noted.
Arbil lies 349 km northeast of Baghdad.
