BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The Interior Ministry began using the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) equipped with sensors and infra-red cameras in order to help in border surveillance and tracking down infiltrators, the director of the national command center said on Tuesday.
“Border guards started using the unmanned aircraft to watch Iraq’s borders with neighboring countries and sending information to border centers in order to track down infiltrators,” General Abdulkarim Khalaf said at a press conference in Baghdad on Tuesday (March 31).
“The border guards managed to kill three infiltrators from neighboring countries during one of these operations,” he added.
