Local official released after 6 months of detention

DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: A local official was released on Friday after six months of detention after being accused of supporting armed groups, an official police source said.
“Security authorities released mayor of Khales, Udai al-Khadrat, on Friday (Mar. 27) after six months of detention,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“He had been accused of supporting armed groups,” he added.
Khales lies 15 km north of Baaquba, the capital of Diala, which lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
