Cop killed, 5 civilians wounded in suicide attack in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: A policeman was killed and five civilians were wounded in a suicide attack in the west of Mosul, the second of its kind in Ninewa, a police source said.

“A suicide bomber blew up an explosive belt strapped to his body in Hassankwi region in Talafar, west of Mosul, killing a cop and injuring five civilians,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

A police source had said earlier that four policemen were wounded in a similar suicide attack in central Mosul.

Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
