10 AQI fighters nabbed, 150 IED defused in Diala

DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: Ten members of al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) were arrested during a security raid that covered different parts of Diala province, a local police chief said, adding that 150 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were defused during the operation.
“Those arrested are wanted in accordance with Article IV of the Terrorism Law,” Staff Maj. Gen. Abdelhussein al-Shamri told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The explosive charges were found in Bahraz district (5 km south of Baaquba),” Shamri added.
Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
