17 wanted men arrested in Basra

BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces on Monday arrested 17 persons wanted for “criminal” cases and seized a number of illegal vehicles and motorcycles in a military operation throughout Basra, said a source from Basra police media office.

“The arrests occurred during a wide-scale raid operation throughout Basra,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Forces also seized nine illegal vehicles and 28 unregistered motorcycles,” he said.
The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad.
