Civilian shot in Ninewa

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: One civilian was shot by unidentified gunmen in Ninewa province, a local security source said on Sunday, adding that U.S. forces have defused an explosive charge in Mosul city.

“Unknown gunmen shot a civilian in Raas al-Gaada area (western Mosul) before they fled to an unknown destination,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Meanwhile, U.S. forces defused an improvised explosive device (IED) in al-Yarmuk neighborhood, causing no casualties,” the source added.

Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
