30 wanted men detained in Basra

BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces arrested 30 wanted men, released a kidnapped person, and defused a bomb during a wide-scale security operation in separate areas of Basra, the media office of the Basra police said on Thursday.

“Policemen waged a security operation on Thursday (Mar. 19) in separate areas of Basra, where they arrested 30 wanted men and released a kidnapped person in al-Nasr neighborhood in northern Basra, who was kidnapped two days ago,” the office told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The police defused a bomb planted in al-Asmaei region in western Mosul,” he added.

Basra is located 590 km south of Baghdad.
