3 weapons caches seized in Kut

WASSIT / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces on Wednesday seized three arms and explosives caches at an agricultural area north of Kut city, according to a security source from Wassit province.

“The caches were seized at Jwemesa al-Gharbiya area of al-Sawera suburb, 135 km north of Kut,” Colonel Hayder Ali told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The seized ammunition and explosives were sent to a safe place where they can be defused,” he said.

Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
