Murder, kidnap gang arrested in Diala

DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces on Tuesday arrested a murder gang that is believed to be behind several killings and kidnaps in Baaquba city, according to a source from Diala province’s police.

“The arrests were made during a raid in al-Miqdadiya suburb, 45 km northeast of Baaquba,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The gang consists of 16 members,” he said.
The source pointed out that the gang’s members are suspected to be elements of al-Qaeda Organization.
“A quantity of arms was also seized during the operation,” he added.
Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
