Massive ammo cache found in Wassit

WASSIT / Aswat al-Iraq: A massive cache containing 100 rockets on Saturday was discovered in an agricultural area in Wassit province, according to a local security source.

“A force from the Information and National Investigations Department, Wassit police, found the cache in an agricultural area in al-Suweira district, 135 km north of Kut,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The cache contained 100 rockets of different sizes and types, eavesdropping devices and an amount of gunpowder,” the source noted.

Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
