New security operation launched in Diala

DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: A security operation, codenamed al-Fajr al-Jadid, has been launched in central Baaquba city, the commander of Diala province’s police said on Saturday.
“Police forces are targeting the safe hideouts of al-Qaeda Organization in central Baaquba,” General Abdelhussein al-Shemmary told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“So far, 15 of the organization’s elements have been arrested,” he said.
Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
