Ninewa police free 47 detainees

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: The Ninewa police freed 47 detainees who had been released by the U.S. forces from the Bucca detention center a month ago, a Police source said on Thursday.
“The Ninewa police released 47 detainees on Wednesday night (Mar. 11) after they were proved not guilty of involvement in any crime,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The U.S. forces had freed them last month from the Bucca detention center and handed them over to the Ninewa police to check whether they are implicated in any other cases,” he explained.
Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, is 405 km north of Baghdad.
