Joint force detains 5 suspects in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: U.S.-Iraqi forces on Wednesday captured five suspects in southwestern Kirkuk, according to a source from the Joint Coordination Center.

“In cooperation with the Multi-National Force (MNF), a joint force conducted a search raid in Wahid Athar area,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
Meanwhile, a police patrol vehicle from Azadi police station found a hand grenade in front of a foodstuffs shop in al-Qaysariya market, downtown Kirkuk, the source added.

Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Christians and Arabs, lies 250 km north of the capital Baghdad.
