13 rockets seized in Missan

MISSAN / Aswat al-Iraq: Missan security forces seized 13 missiles that were ready for firing in the southern part of the province and defused an improvised explosive device in central al-Amara city, police said on Sunday.
“Thirteen SPJ-7 missiles ready for firing were seized in an area 15 km south of Amara and defused an IED that was planted on a main road in central Amara,” according to a Missan police department release received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The IED was a 130 mm mortar shell tied to a detonation wire,” it added.
Amara, the capital city of Missan province, lies 390 km south of Baghdad.
