Gunmen involved in planting roadside bombs arrested in Anbar

ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces arrested a group of five men involved in planting roadside bombs at al-Qaim district, said a source from al-Anbar province’s police.

“The group targeted Iraqi security forces at al-Karabla area, east of al-Qaim (350 km) west of Ramadi,” the source told Aswat Al-Iraq news agency.

“The operation was conducted based on intelligence tip-offs and local residents’ cooperation,” he said.

Ramadi, the capital city of the predominantly Sunni province of Anbar, lies 110 km northwest of Baghdad.
