Explosives seized inside mosque in Amara

MISSAN / Aswat al-Iraq: A police force seized an amount of highly explosive TNT in central al-Amara city on Saturday, according to a senior security official.
“The force seized four kilograms of TNT hidden inside a coffin in al-Shahidain Mosque in al-Imarat al-Sinaaiya area, central Amara,” Col. Sadeq Sallam, the Missan Police Department’s information & relations director, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The operation was conducted after the mosque was raided and searched based on intelligence tip-offs,” Sallam added.
Amara, the capital city of Missan province, lies 390 km south of Baghdad.
