Police find large weapons cache in Anbar

ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces on Friday found a large stockpile of weapons and ammunitions in eastern Falluja city, a senior police officer said.

“The force found the depot buried under the ground in a eastern Falluja,” Colonel Hattef Mohamed told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The depot contains 30 Katyusha rockets, 15 mortar shells, one Strella missile, 5 TNT fingers, 5 Austrian rockets, 11 anti-shields bombs and 9 rocket propelled grenades (RPG),” he added.

“The depot was found thanks to intelligence information and citizens’ cooperation,” he also said.

Falluja, Anbar province, is 45 km west of Baghdad.
