Missile defused in southern Kirkuk

KIRKUK / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces on Friday managed to defuse a missile in southern Kirkuk, the deputy chief of the al-Muqdad police said.

“Policemen found on Friday morning (March 6) a missile and its pad near the games city in al-Kournish street in southern Kirkuk,” Colonel Kamel Ahmad told Aswat al-Iraq news agency, noting that the missile was defused by anti-explosives experts.

“The missile was targeting the airbase in Kirkuk,” he explained.

Kirkuk is 250 km northeast of Baghdad.
