Hilla blast leaves 72 casualties

BABEL / Aswat al-Iraq: The casualties from the car bomb explosion that ripped through the south of Hilla on Thursday rose to 12 dead and 60 wounded, a security source said.
“The casualties from the car bomb blast in Hamza al-Gharbi area (30 km south of Hilla), went up to 12 dead and 60 wounded,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
A security source had said earlier that a car bomb went off in Hamza al-Gharbi area, killing 10 civilians and wounding 30 others.
Hilla, the capital city of Babel province, lies 100 km south of Baghdad.
