5 wanted men nabbed in Baaquba

DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: Five wanted persons on Tuesday were arrested in downtown Baaquba city, according to a local police chief.

“Today, police forces conducted a military operation in downtown Baaquba city, during which five wanted men were arrested under Article IV of the Terrorism Law,” Staff Maj. Gen. Abdelhussein al-Shamri told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were seized in al-Balat market and six Katyusha rockets were found in an area affiliated with Khanaqin district (155 km northeast of Baaquba),” he added.

Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
