Arms cache found in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / Aswat al-Iraq: A weapons cache on Tuesday was discovered in eastern Nassiriya city, according to an official police statement.
“Today, a force from the national information and anti-explosives departments seized 18 mortar shells, four rockets, including two anti-aircraft missiles, in al-Sidinawiya area (10 km east of Nassiriya),” read the statement that was received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“A locally-made improvised explosive device (IED) was defused near the cache,” the statement noted.
Nassiriya, the capital city of Thi-Qar province, lies 380 km south of Baghdad.
