AQI operative arrested in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: An army force on Sunday captured an al-Qaeda in Iraq member in western Mosul city, according to a security source.

“Today, a force from the 6 th Brigade, 2 nd Division, stationed in Mosul, arrested an al-Qaeda gunman in 17 Tammuz neighborhood,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The man is wanted for his involvement in many crimes, including the manufacturing of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that target security personnel in the city,” the source added.

Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
