4 wanted men nabbed, hostage released in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / Aswat al-Iraq: Four wanted men on Sunday were arrested on criminal and terror-related charges, and a hostage was released in Thi-Qar province, according to a police statement.

“A group of men driving a Kia-modeled bus kidnapped a citizen in Sayyid Dakhil district (20 km northeast of Nassiriya),” read a statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Checkpoint personnel have managed to release the hostage and arrested his two kidnappers,” according to the statement.

Nassiriya, the capital city of Thi-Qar province, lies 380 km south of Baghdad.
