2 AQI fighters arrested in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq: Two al-Qaeda in Iraq members on Saturday were arrested in western Mosul city, according to an army source.

“A force from the 6 th Brigade, 2 nd Division, stationed in Mosul, arrested two wanted men in an area between al-Tank neighborhood and al-Islah al-Ziraie, western Mosul,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
A security operation called ‘New Hope’ was launched in Mosul on February 2 to track down al-Qaeda gunmen in the city.

Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
