3 AQI gunmen arrested in Diala

DIALA / Aswat al-Iraq: Three al-Qaeda in Iraq operatives on Tuesday were captured in downtown Baaquba city, according to a local police chief.
“Today, police forces conducted a military operation in downtown Baaquba, during which three al-Qaeda members were arrested in accordance with Article IV of the Terrorism Law,” Staff Maj. Gen. Abdelhussein al-Shamri told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“Meanwhile, a sticky improvised explosive device (IED) was defused in Babalan village, al-Muqdadiya district (45 km northeast of Baaquba),” Shamri added.
Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
