Soldiers, civilian killed in Baghdad armed attack

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Two soldiers and a civilian on Monday were killed and eight persons were wounded in an armed attack on a checkpoint in the Iraqi capital, according to a police source.

“On Monday, unknown gunmen attacked an Iraqi army checkpoint in Baghdad’s western area of al-Ghazaliya, killing two servicemen and a civilian, and injuring eight persons, including four soldiers,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
The source did not provide further details.
