Wanted man arrested in Wassit

WASSIT / Aswat al-Iraq: A wanted man was arrested on Thursday in northern Wassit for being suspected of perpetrating armed attacks against civilians, a security source said.
“A force from the Quick Response Department (QRD) raided a house in al-Suwaiyra district in the north of Kut,” Lieutenant Aysar al-Akeedi told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The man is suspected of being involved in armed attacks against civilians,” he added.
“The force found a BKC gun and ammunitions in his possession,” he also said.
Kut, the capital of Wassit, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
